Despite a 25-year professional life, Ridan left very little behind. Even in D’Allemagne’s very extensive list of cardmakers of France, he is not mentioned. According to Depaulis, he was active from 1803 to 1828. Besides playing cards, he also made cardboard and all kinds of papers for office use (see „Nota“ at the end of the sheet).
